OSMTH Poetry Contest
Raphael Rubio Grand Priory of France
"To name things wrongly is to add to the misfortune of the world” wrote Albert Camus. This phrase is taken from a review by the Nobel Prize laureate, whose aim was to put in perspective speech and poetry in one of the works of Brice Parain: “A Study on the Nature and Functions of Language”.
It is this very language that OSMTH is trying to celebrate.
We have collectively decided to organise a Poetry contest; Word and Speech, that are indivisible from action, must become a tool in overcoming the current issues, for not only is this a health crisis but also a spiritual and cultural one. It is at work in every conscience today. It might tomorrow lead to great tragedies.
In front of that risk, the Templars are betting on intelligence!
We shall always be at your side. Our goal is clear: bringing talents together and restoring the ideals of chivalry.
Therefore, we invite you to mobilise your endless creativity. The art of poetry is indeed a timeless conveyer of hope!
We encourage you to make use of the pen in the dead of night so that light shall be born again! Our fight is to uphold peace.
You may write in poetry prose, verse or free verse, the words flowing through your heart. At the end of the contest, the entries will be published in a dedicated issue of the Carpe Diem. Judges will deliberate and award an honorary diploma to the author(s) of the most accomplished creations.
Poetry is deeply rooted in the Templars’ tradition and way. Let it shine for a freer world!
Contest entries are to be submitted to Chev. Raphael Rubio. Contest entries will be accepted until 15 September 2020.
