Venues Committee
Mafalda Nascimento Venues Committee Chair
The Venues Committee has been meeting monthly via Skype, as usual. Recently appointed Host Chairs have been attending the calls. These new members are now preparing the Fall 2021 GMC Zagreb, Croatia, and Spring 2022 GMC Bled, Slovenia.
Regarding the current global pandemic, the committee has also been working on rescheduling international events. The GMC Florence was postponed to Spring 2024 and the GMC/GCG Sofia to Spring 2021. The event to be held in Sofia includes an International Scientific Conference open to all members on Tuesday.
The Committee works closely with and supports the Marshal General, Security Committee Co-Chair and Webmaster General. A survey has been sent to attendees after each international meeting and its results subjected to discussion in the Venues Committee for events’ continuous improvement. Survey questions were reviewed and improved. Furthermore, the Venues Guide was also developed and replaced by a new version - the Venues Handbook. This handbook is a “best practice guide”, as its propose is to explain to future Host Chairs how to produce GMC, GCG and Friends and Family events.
Cities, dates and presentations for forthcoming meetings are available on OSMTH website: https://www.osmth.org/resources/venues. The Venues Handbook is available on the same page.
The Venues Committee strongly encourages the Grand Priories to forward registration information to their members, ensuring that international meetings are well attended.
Looking forward to meeting you in Sofia, Bulgaria (April 12-18, 2021).
