OSMTH and the GDPR
George MacLean GCSG GCTJ
I would like to take this opportunity to assure you all that OSMTH takes the European General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) very seriously. One of the functions of the Grand Commander is to protect the organisation from all threats and GDPR failings, should they occur, will harm not only our reputation but our finances.
OSMTH only retains the minimum information on our members from the moment that someone registers to attend our international gatherings, and we have agreed a policy and procedure that this information is not shared internally unless it is needed to process event attendance, but this information is then deleted once the event is over. OSMTH never has the intention to retain, share or sell your information.
We have created the post of Data Protection Officer who reports to the Grand Commander. The DPO ensures that we comply with the best Data Protection methods and also ensures that we do not break the regulations. Of course the DPO is also the contact point when a perceived break of rules has taken place. If you have concerns about your own data, OSMTH use of it or any other data protection issues, you can contact the DPO on the dedicated OSMTH DPO email.
