OSMTH Charitable Donations: Generations for Peace
Simon LeFevre, Almoner General

OSMTH is very familiar with the work of Generations for Peace and considers it a great privilege to have a Memorandum of Understanding with this award-winning international and youth-oriented non-governmental organisation which focuses on peacebuilding.

OSMTH has also taken note of the GFP Vision Statement, which is:

  • “Sustainable peace in actively tolerant communities through responsible citizenship”;

and the GFP Mission Statement, which is:

  • “To empower youth to lead and cascade sustainable change in communities experiencing conflict, through world-class free education in conflict transformation and the use of sport, art, advocacy, dialogue, and empowerment for peacebuilding.”

The 2,000 Euro donation from OSMTH is being used to support the 2021 Amman Peace Talks, which is an initiative, developed in Jordan by Generations for Peace, to provide a speaking platform for a diverse range of youth leaders to share their experiences and to:

  • demonstrate that peaceful solutions to conflict exist;
  • showcase inspiring stories and what is working;
  • raise awareness that everyone has a role in building peace; and
  • inspire action in everyday life and on a global scale.

Further information on the 2019 and 2020 Amman Peace Talks promoted by Generations for Peace (including the kind acknowledgment of OSMTH’s support) can be found via the link here: Amman Peace Talks | Generations for Peace

Next in your tour of the five 2021 recipient organisations is Friends of the Holy Land.
