onference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations is an independent, international, non-profit membership association of non-governmental organizations (NGOs). It facilitates the participation of NGOs in United Nations debates and decision-making.
The two classes of membership, Full, for those NGOs with consultative status with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Council, (ECOSOC), and Associate, for those with affiliation with a UN program or agency, total more than 700 NGO members from around the globe.
Founded in 1948, CoNGO has committees based in Geneva, New York and Vienna. Its objectives: “to ensure that NGOs be present when governments discuss issues of global concern at the United Nations and to facilitate NGO discussions on such issues.”
OSMTH was elected to the Board of CoNGO in 2014 and re-elected in March of 2018. In a separate vote at the March 2018 CoNGO General Assembly OSMTH was elected “Vice President at-Large” of CoNGO with Grand Master BG Patrick Rea to represent OSMTH as Vice President at-Large, with BG John Digilio representing OSMTH on the CoNGO Board and Colonel (Ret.) Robert Bateman representing OSMTH on the CoNGO Foundation. Demonstrating the strong positive leadership role OSMTH is recognized playing at the United Nations.
